WHAT – EAA Chapter 71 Fly-In, Airport Open House, & free Young Eagle flights for kids 8-17
WHEN – Saturday June 2, 2018. 9am-1pm(or later).
WHERE – Bakersfield Municipal Airport EAA hangar, 2000 S. Union Ave(across from Rocket Shop Cafe entrance).

EAA Chapter 71 will be selling a Tri-Tip Sandwich lunch with chips & soda/water for $10 from 11am-1pm.

A free event for pilots to fly in, socialize, and allow the public to see your plane.

Open to the public, no admission. A chance to see planes, ask questions about general aviation.

We will be providing Young Eagle flights to kids 8-17(parent permission required) starting at 9am. This is completely free and is our way of introducing kids to aviation. Parents can email or call me directly if they have questions or to let me know they are planning to bring their child. If there are large groups(boy scouts, school groups, etc), please let me know an approximate count so I can ensure we have enough pilots. Pilots who want to provide Young Eagle flights must be EAA members and complete a quick online training course/background check at least a week before the event. https://www.eaa.org/…/e…/youth-protection-policy-and-program .  Please email me with your name, EAA #, and plane type so I can ensure we have enough planes/pilots to fly the kids we are expecting.  The local ‘Young Marines’ already expect to bring about 30 kids for flights.
