Bakersfield Jet Center 661-393-1334
Bakersfield Jet Center Fuelers 661-428-7155
Airport Security 661-747-4055
If flying after hours, please plan accordingly. If any services are needed, Bakersfield Jet Center has a call out fee of $125. Plan to have the airplane pulled out and/or fueled before 8PM.
The best option is to get an AOA badge and sticker for your car. Talk to Daniel Samms downstairs in Bakersfield Jet Center if you need an AOA badge, he will have the paperwork necessary for the TSA background check and application. For both AOA badge and parking sticker, you will need to go into the Meadows Field Terminal and go to the badging window by the staircase near the waterfall. Have two forms of Identification (Driver’s License, SSN card/Birth Certificate, Passport) for your AOA badge; have a current registration and proof of insurance for each vehicle for application. AOA badge is $30, and parking sticker is $20.
Since we all should have an AOA badge now per Bakersfield Jet Center rules and have access to the 2nd floor of BJC, we no longer have to leave the Aircraft Hobbs book and keys inside the plane at night. If you have a parking sticker you can park near the Wonderful Aviation hangar inside the fence (right across from the main Bakersfield Jet parking lot). If you only have an AOA badge you can still get out of the AOA after hours through the walk through gate that leads to the Bakersfield Jet Center parking lot. Also, since the downstairs of Bakersfield Jet is locked after 8PM you will need to go out of the AOA, into the parking lot, and up the stairs to get to the 2nd floor of Bakersfield Jet Center to access the Bakersfield Flying Club. The door to get into the 2nd floor is activated by your AOA card, all you need to do is tap your card on the card reader on the side of the door and it should unlock. There is an alarm set downstairs so DO NOT try to walk downstairs after hours, the alarm will go off. When you are ready to leave go out the same door entered and the door should lock automatically. If you do not have an AOA badge then you will need to call airport security to escort you out of the AOA gate.
