Pierre-Orly Dupont Gets His Private Pilot Ticket!

April 20 was a bit gusty, so Pierre finished his Private Pilot Checkride 2 days later on a calm and clear morning.  His wife was there to congratulate him on his accomplishment!  Congrats Pierre!

Kirk Frey Gets His Instrument Ticket

April 15 2019. Kirk worked on his IFR for quite a while. Work and weather seemed to get in the way. Finally, he is a proud Instrument Pilot! Congrats both to Kirk and CFI Adam on a job well done.

Poker Run 2019

The Antelope Valley Poker Run was a huge success April 14 2019!  Members Brenda Corby, Scott Corby, Donna Webster, Fred Webster, Gabriel Roca, Daniel Lavato and Dea Payette.  Dea won several prizes for having some of the best poker hands!  No one from the BFC placed in the spot landing contest, but they all had fun trying with the fantastic winds!

Brenda Corby Flies Solo Around…

…the traffic pattern at KBFL! Congratulations to new BFC member Brenda Corby on her first solo. CFI Donna said she did a great job, and is looking forward to pushing forward in her training toward her Private Pilot Certificate. Brenda and husband Scott are also the owners of the club’s new C172, N9596H. High fives all around!

N.T. Solos!

N.T. takes to the skies all on his own 4-5-2019.  It was a cloudy day, but the visibility and winds were great!   N.T.’s CFI, Tom Peterson, watched from the sidelines as he made his 3 landings on Runway 30L.  His family also shared in the excitement of his first solo.  Congratulations N.T.!

Aaron Hacker Solos!

Mega congrats to Aaron Hacker on the occasion of his first solo! CFI Fred said he did a great job. Now on to more advanced training, solo cross countries, then the checkride. Way to go, Aaron!!

Sweaney Gets a Ticket!

Congratulations to Todd Sweaney for passing his Private Pilot Checkride on January 20 with DPE Donna Webster. Todd is a local homebuilder, and plans to fly for both business and pleasure. His go-to places to fly are KSBP and KSBA for lunch and sightseeing. Todd plans to go right into training for his instrument rating, and thinks airplane ownership is a definite possibility. Way to go, Todd!
