Congratulations to Ed Tietjen and Courtney Risner who just got back from an Alaskan adventure where they both earned Airplane Single Engine Sea (ASES) ratings! The seaplane rating is one of the most fun ratings a pilot can earn, and can really test skills when operating in strong winds (there are no brakes) or over glassy water. Now both Ed and Courtney want to do back country training, and Alaska is the perfect place to go.
The Club will be open May 15, with a newly-refurbished N73977 and major upgrades to N73103! Be sure to read the new COVID Response Guide, sign the back page, and leave it in the tray in the hall at the office. Call your CFI for more instructions and re-opening review of new procedures. Michael is an amputee and ex-police officer has decided to change careers and start his training to become a Professional Pilot in the future! He has put a lot of hard work into getting his license as there were obstacles in his training such as receiving his medical. Michael is one of the few to have to do a SODA to receive his medical. The greatest thing was that he never gave up on his dream. He has been an inspiration for many other people in the community. If you see Michael give him a high-five!
